North Western Territories

The Northwest Territory (NWT) is the second-largest of Canada’s three territories by area. Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories, and it is where the majority of the population live.   • Express Entry – This category is for Skilled Employees whose profiles have been accepted into Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry Pool, a government program with accelerated application periods for qualified workers seeking to work and reside in the NWT. Express Entry supports the hiring of skilled workers by expediting applications for permanent residency. When the individual is approved then he or she will get 600 points in the Express Entry pool.
  • Business Stream – The Business Stream is for persons who desire to start a business in the NWT, buy an existing business in the NWT, or invest in and run a business in the NWT. There will be no waiting list for your application in the NWT, and processing times will be faster. If starting or buying a firm outside the corporate limits of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, you must have at least $250,000 CDN in net worth and be willing to spend a minimum of $150,000 CDN in equity.
